Hiba, who plays Sheena in DesiPlay TV’s Bhaag Bakool Bhaag, has impressed audiences. She proved herself and received a lot of praise for playing a humorous role. Hiba shared her experiences with the show and what similarities does she finds in between herself and on-screen character Sheena.

“Sheena is an absolute fashionista, and she is obsessed with herself. This quality of hers is nowhere close to me and honestly, I don’t see many similarities between myself and Sheena. We are poles apart. Sheena is always on cloud nine whereas I am humble. I don’t even throw tantrums the ways Sheena does!”, Smiled Hiba.

On asking how she would like to describe Sheena in one word, Hiba said, “Sheena is a drama queen, and she loves drama. Even in the slightest of inconvenience, Sheena always looks out for a chance to make a fuss out of it. The only person she loves with all her heart is Bakool and she will go at any length to be with him.”

However, Hiba strongly believes that transparency in a relationship plays an important role. “No wife would ever want to share her husband. That’s not how relationships work. To be honest, I would never want to even imagine such situation in real life, it’s crazy to even think about it. Trust is the base of any relationship and 2 people in a relationship should respect that.”

Hiba also shared experiences of playing a comic role and how it helped her to come out of her comfort zone. “It was fun to do a comic role. Initially, I wasn’t sure but costars and director were extremely supportive. Even in future if I come across more comic roles, I won’t deny it. At least, such roles are light hearted and these don’t demand me to fake cry too much!”

Hiba didn’t forget to mention about the friendly bond she shared with Jay Soni and Shruti Rawat throughout the show, “Both the co-stars are super friendly. It was fun to have them around. Since day 1 of the shoot, we shared a good bond and more fun used to happen off-screen. Everyone was sweet to work with.”

Dine With Colors is a famous culinary and travel television show hosted by Simran Kochar Singh. Her captivating show, which celebrates the best eats, drinks, recipes, and more from throughout the country, airs on DesiPlay TV every Sunday. The show is best defined as a gastronomic odyssey across North America, as it travels the country spotlighting the top restaurants, chefs, international food, and iconic regional sites. Simran discussed anything from what goes into developing a television show to what regional cuisine can teach us about the people and places that gave birth to them.

On asking which restaurant in North America, she would like to feature on her show Dine with Colors, Simran said, “There are several, but two that come to mind instantly in New York: I had the pleasure of dining at Tavern 62, David Burke’s new Upper East Side restaurant. And I really want to feature his Ostrich egg recipe on the show. I believe David is simply warm and pleasant in person, as evidenced by the way he greets and mingles with everyone in the restaurant and makes them feel at ease. It would be fantastic if his story and dishes were featured on the show. There’s another fantastic restaurant in Washington Square Park called Dosa Man Thiru.”

Simran doesn’t hesitate to talk about how diverse regional and cultural cuisines teach us about the locations and the brainchild behind them. “I enjoy seeing how beautifully geography, climate, religious beliefs, and trade history have influenced the choice of vegetables and spices in various lands, how changing infrastructures have increased access to newer ingredients for chefs all over the world, and how the internet and global online deliveries have spawned more creativity in meals. Food is a cultural identity in and of itself, and I prefer to recognize and really enjoy the diversity rather than expecting a melting pot.”

Simran further added,” From sharing Ethiopian Injera with a glamorous restaurant owner who taught me how to respect food down to the last morsel as people do in Ethiopia due to abject poverty, to learning from a barbecue pit master in Charleston how wood from different trees affects the flavor of his chicken wings, to learning how to wait patiently with the Vietnamese chef for the special coffee with condensed milk to brewing, I just love seeing the passion for food. The more traditional and authentic, the better!”

Kapil Sharma, with this amazing comic timing and quick wittedness, the actor soon became a household name. It wasn’t easy for him initially. The actor has come a long way from his modest beginnings in Amritsar to reaching a life that many people can only dream of. Kapil Sharma has experienced several lows on his path to popularity, including fallout with team members, despair, and even a career ebb. Time and again Kapil spoke about the difficult times and how he battled them fearlessly. There was also a time when he locked himself up after receiving nothing but negative feedback. He also stated that as he went out, he realised that people still loved him, which gave him the courage to keep going.

The actor spoke at length about serving the entertainment industry without any godfather and how the audience keeps motivating him to do his best. “I won’t deny the fact that nepotism is prevalent in the industry. However, I always grateful to the genuine people in the industry and the audience for always showering their love and appreciating my work.” shared Kapil.

Adding further he said,” Everyone has their own experiences; some gain it through networks, while others forge their own path. I’m not going to imply that folks who come via godfathers aren’t talented. However, at the end of the day, it is your talent that will propel you forward. Even if you receive a huge launch, the audience will not see you if you can’t act. For my part, I worked on regional networks before making it to national television.”

The actor additionally addressed how he feels the supreme force shows the way, especially in difficult times. The actor also believes that sometimes it might be difficult to make people laugh when he is feeling down, but a lot of things depend upon how an individual handles the situation. “A lot depends on how you handle it, and sometimes, it’s the stage that gives you the power. I believe God helps me sail through such difficult times.”

Mrunal Jain has had an eventful career in the television industry, and he plays Vishnu in the Hindi TV show ‘Uttaran’ on DesiPlay TV. The handsome actor talked about his experiences related to the show, his co actors and how did he land a role in Uttaran.  Read the excerpt from the interview.

“I had auditioned for the role and was notified that I was selected for it while on vacation in Goa. The creative team thankfully agreed to hold back on the look test for four days until I returned. And I aced the appearance test with flying colors.” shared Mrunal.

On asking about his experiences of working with the co-stars like Tina Dutta, Mrunal said, “She has a wonderful heart and comes across as a real person. Our banter continues even off the camera, and she adds a spark to the set anytime she is around. It was a good experience to work with her and she is an amazing co-star.”

When asked about how many similarities he finds between himself and Vishnu, Mrunal replied,” To some extent, I relate with Vishnu. Sometimes the attire worn by my on-screen character is very similar to what I would prefer wearing it in real life as well. The best part is Vishnu is a simple guy and this characteristics of him is very close to my heart.”

Mrunal is known to successfully portray on screen characters. With his diverse roles in different shows, the actor now feels that it has been creatively fulfilling for him. “Taking on a variety of roles has been creatively fulfilling and I have evolved as an actor. All I can say is that a significant transition has occurred within me, and new prospects have begun to present themselves. Today, being an all-arounder is crucial. Having said that, I also think that everything is pre-destined and happens as it should.”

Mrunal also shared some fitness tips that he swears by. “I only eat healthy and natural foods. I also go to the gym daily. Finally, I consume a lot of water. There is a tale behind this; while I was in college, my seniors would rag me and urge me to take off my T-shirt. They would even throw water on me. I used to be embarrassed because I was so thin. I decided to take care of myself.”

Sourabh Raaj Jain’s portrayal of Lord Shiva in Mahakali – Anth Hi has captivated numerous hearts. The depiction of Lord Shiva as a compassionate friend, ally, motivator, and mentor on the show has touched the hearts of many. Interestingly, the character of Lord Shiv surpassed the portrayal of so-called modern men on Indian TV shows by a hundredfold.  The portrayal of Shiva as a staunch feminist in the series resonated deeply with the audience.

It provides an insightful perspective into the character of Lord Shiva. “Initially, I was filled with apprehension when I learned that I had to play the character of Mahadev. Playing the role of Shiva, especially after portraying Krishna, wasn’t something I had considered. However, as I received the narration for the role, I discovered that the show would highlight the Shankar aspect of Shiva, where he serves as the head of the family and supports his wife wholeheartedly. This portrayal of Shiva as a feminist in the show was a remarkable aspect that greatly appealed to me. It also resonates with my personal life experiences.”

“Throughout my childhood, I witnessed my own mother working tirelessly as a lawyer. This personal experience has shaped my belief that gender should not define one’s worth or capabilities. What truly matters is having a goal in life and working towards it, regardless of whether you are male or female.” He added.

When asked if he ever had any amusing encounters with fans considering he has portrayed god-like characters throughout his career, Sourabh added,” As amusing as it may sound, I haven’t actually portrayed a god-like character throughout my career! However, I’ve had some truly wonderful moments with fans. This connection with fans goes way back to the days of my previous shows when people still remember me as one of the characters from the show. Even the roles I played in Uttaran and other shows are still recognized by viewers. While there haven’t been any particularly funny moments with fans, the overall experience has been amazing.”
